Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato – 4-Wheeled Beauty!

This weekend there happens to be a minor little to-do over on the shores of Lake Como known as the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este.  A beautiful lake, a beautiful hotel and lots of beautiful cars.

Pristine classics from years past are the primary attraction, but one will also see some current models and new model debuts.  Even the occasional concept car will be shown on the pristine grounds.

Speaking of concept cars, famed British marque Aston Martin decided to bring their latest one-off to the show, just to tease everyone.  Long known for beautifully designed luxury transportation, Aston may have one-upped themselves.  In a long-standing collaboration with Italian design house Zagato, Aston Martin’s Vanquish Zagato might be…
…may be…

 …could be… the world’s most beautiful car!
Sure, everything Aston Martin builds is easy on the eyes.  The Vanquish Zagato Concept continues that tradition.  Per Marek Reichman, Aston’s VP and Chief Creative Officer:  The Vanquish Zagato Concept shows how our two companies can come together and push the definition of Aston Martin design.”

Powered by a naturally aspirated V12 rated at 592 horsepower, the car is wrapped in curvaceous bodywork featuring Zagato’s iconic double-bubble roofline and a wraparound “glasshouse”, giving the car an aggressive presence.  Leather and herringbone carbon fiber adorn the interior, highlighted by a “Z” quilt pattern stitched into the headrests.
So, I love this car, but there is one major problem…

They’re not going to build it…!
Unfortunately, this is a concept car in the classic sense of the word.  What you see here is the only one.  Put your wallets away people!  A true shame, as something tells me Aston Martin could sell as many as they could build.

Pity…
