New BMW 8 Series

BMW has confirmed plans to build a four-door Gran Turismo based on their stunning CS concept. The car, originally noted as a “design study”, made its debut at the Shanghai auto show earlier this year. Officials at BMW have not commented on whether they will revive the 8-series moniker for this vehicle, but the Connoisseur believes it will happen.

Production timelines appear to point to 2010, and engines will probably be in the V-8 and V-10 range. The CS will likely be priced at the top of the BMW line, competing against the likes of the upcoming Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide.
