The Future of Land Rover

The stalwart British company famous for off-road capable vehicles introduced one of their rare concept show vehicles for the Detroit Auto Show. The LRX concept is a three-door wagon that is shorter and lower than their current LR2. Designed to be more eco-friendly and appearing to have an on-road bias, the LRX will still maintain the Land Rover off-road capability.

While Land Rover is not saying if the LRX will be produced, we are betting that a version reasonably close to this concept vehicle will appear in the coming years. As far as the design direction for Land Rover, we like what we see. Traditional cues such as the clamshell hood and floating roof are still present, while generating a more urban and modern feel overall.
