Let me start with a clue today… which is of course, in the form of another question.

Yes indeed, we are going to discuss champagne and sparkling wine today! Specifically the Independent Champagne and Sparkling Wine Invitational – thus the ICSWI acronym.

In the Champagne region of France alone, there are over 5,000 independent artisans growing and producing their own product. That’s a lot of finely crafted Champagne. And the conference will be covering the rest of the world as well. Italian Prosecco, Spanish Cava, German Sekt and Californian sparkling wine will all be present and available for your sampling pleasure. Over 50 of America’s top sommeliers will be on hand to handle the pouring duties.

The conference is being held in New Orleans in mid-April. There will be a full slate of educational seminars with industry experts, mixology demonstrations, a winemaker dinner and a couple of rather festive parties sure to run late into the evening.
