Audi A7 Official Reveal

In an answer to the Mercedes Benz CLS and BMW 5-Series GT, German automaker Audi has released official data and photos for the upcoming A7 5-door sportback.

In dealerships this fall (I’m told late September, subject to change), the A7 retains the sporting fastback look of the original show car version seen at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. In walk-around the exterior design proportions are mostly successful. The interior is of course up to Audi’s luxurious and well-constructed high-bar standards.

A few powertrain options will be available, with the main unit to be the 295 hp supercharged V-6 seen in other Audi models. This should give sprightly performance with a 0 – 60 time in the mid 5 second range. Quattro all-wheel drive is present as well along with the available S-tronic dual-clutch transmission.

The A7 interior sports the latest version of Audi’s excellent MMI infotainment system along with an available Bang & Olufsen 15 speaker stereo to rock your world.

Audi has certainly been on a roll of late with each new release gaining momentum in the marketplace. Let’s see how the A7 measures up to the competition. Stay tuned…
